The Great Gatsby Chapter 3 Question 1

Pay attention to Nick's judgements. What do they reveal about his character that he does this (especially in relation to his opening comments)?

Nick is always watching people around him and making judgements about them. This reaveals that Nick is a very judgemental person and relies a lot on first appearances. For example in the beginning of the book Nick didnt really like Gatsby without even knowing anything about him, but as the story progressed he began to become fond of him.

Nicks judgements reveal many things about his character. I also agree with what Kayla is saying when she said at first he judged Gatsby as being a rude, stuck p person that didn't really like many people and many people didn't really like him, but as the book continues, we find that Nick actually starts more and more to like and to be around Gatsby.

Nick is a very honest person in his relations. He never tries to lie to anyone or be mysterious. He is always telling the truth no matter how rude or insensitive it may be.
