Tom first meets Gatsby when Tom stops by for a drink at Gatsby's house, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Sloane. Gatsby seems quite nervous when he meets him and their first meeting is very awkward. When he tells Tom that he knows Daisy, Tom becomes quite suspicious. This first meeting puts Gatsby and Daisy's secret feelings in jeopardy and hopefully Tom will not soon find out.

Tom meets Gatsby with Mr. and Mrs. Sloane when they all arrive at Gatsby's house for a drink. I agree with derek, The author makes Gatsby seem nervous making the first meeting awkward. Tom and Gatsby conversation leads to Gatsby telling tom that he knows Daisy. From Toms reaction, he may know that something is up between Daisy and Gatsby.

The frist meeting between Tom and Gatsby is a very akward one. Gatsbhy mentions he knows Daisy and Tom becomes suspicious of Gatsby. Tom attends Gatsby's party because he doesn't trust Daisy seeing Gatsby.

The first meeting with Tom and Gatsby happens at Gatsby's house during one of his parties. Tom is successfully being the hulking man that Daisy describes him as earlier. Gatsby is very nervous because this is the huband of the woman he loves, but he keeps his cool. It is awkward, but not too awkward that Gatsby won't survive.

When Tom meets Jay Gatsby he is with his wife and a man named Mr. Sloane, Gatsby invites them over for dinner, however; they decline and to be polite they half-heartedly invite him over their house and much to their demise he says yes. This meeting shows Tom's hostility and Gatsby's social awkwardness.

When Tom and Gatsby first meet, it is when Tom stops at Gatsby's house for a drink. When he goes there, he is with Mr. and Mrs. Sloane. Something that made Tom curious was that he found out that Gatsby knew Daisy. This meeting reveals that they both have some things in common and also that they both knew some things about eachother that no one else knows.
