Gatsby tells Nick that he was the son to wealthy parents from the Midwest. He studied at Oxford University in England. He also tells him seemingly proposterous stories of how he hunted big game, collecting gems all around England, and earning medals from Wold War I. Nick is sceptical at first but then Gatsby showed him a picture of him playing cricket at Oxford. I don't believe all of his stories because of all of his stories the one about him going to Oxford seems the most reasonable. Nick seems still on the fence but was more intrigued about the white card Gatsby showed the police officer.

Gatsby tells Nick a long, detailed story about his past. He lists accomplishments and facts as well. He claims several things, including that he is the son of wealthy but deceased parents from the Midwest, that he was educated at Oxford, to have collected jewels, to have hunted big animals, and to have been awarded medals in war. Gatsby’s story seems to include a lot of unbelievable and unlikely details. I think Gatsby made up most of his story, for it seems far too great to believe. At first, Nick questions his story and Gatsby proves that he went to Oxford by showing him a picture of him there. He also shows Nick a medal he was awarded at war. I think that he definitely did go to Oxford, but maybe made up some of the other details to make himself seem greater than he really is. We really do not know though.

Gatsby tell nick the story of his life and that his parents are wealthy people from the midwest. He also tells him about all these adventures he's supposabley been on and this baffles Ncik for a while. But when he sees a picture of him at his college that Gatsby told him about he gives in. I do believe these stories because i think that Gatsby has no reason to lie to Nick

Gatsby tells Nick about his life so that maybe Nick will talk to Daisy about him. Gatsby says that he studied at Oxford, and is part of a wealthy family. I think most of what Gatsby is telling Nick is true, because if he wants Daisy, then he will not start off their relationship by telling lies. He wants to impress Nick so that he gets in good with Daisy.

Gatsby tells Nick the story about how he is the son of his wealthy parents from the Midwest. He also tells him not to believe the stories he hears about him because they are not true. He also tells Nick that he was the officer that Daisy loved and cared about so much.

Gatsby tells Nick that his father adn mother were both wealthy people from the Midwest. He also begins to tell him stories of when he hunted big animals, and that he was awrded metlas while in war. I believe that Gatsby is telling the truth because he says how he wants Dasiy and lieing will not impress her.

Gatsby tells Nick about how he was the child of wealthy mid westerners and about all the things that he has achieved in the military. He tried very hard to prove to Nick that all his stories are true and eventually Nick starts to believe him. I on the other hand think he tried to hard which shows he is just trying to impress Nick and in turn Daisy.

Gatsby tells nick that he was raised as a son to wealthy parents in the midwest, he went to Oxford University, collected precious gems, and won war meadals. Just like nick I was sceptical at first, but then he pulled out the picter of him with the polo team at Oxford and if he was telling the truth about that..who says all of it isn't true?

Gatsby tells Nick that that he was the son of a wealthy family. He also said he studied at Oxford, collected gems around England and earned many medals from WW1. I dont really believe anything Gatsby said except that he went to Oxford. I dont believe that Nick really believes him either.

Gatsby tells Nick about his life because he doesn't want Nick to think wrong about him from all the rumors they hear.

'"Well, I'm going to tell you something about my life," he interrupted. "I don't want you to get a wrong idea of me from all these stories you hear."' (Page 65 in the hard cover)
