Rain is what moves the plot along. The rain is what forces the group to be together and interact. The rain coups them up together and allows them to interact, to talk. Daisy and Gatsby finally meet and have emotions for each other again. Rain stopping is also what allows them the chance to go over to Gatsby's and view his beautiful house. And finally rain leaves hem alone with each other.

In the novel, rain is what gets certain emotions going. It also symbolizes as something that does not stop life from going on, for the Gardner still comes to Nick’s house to cut the grass and Daisy still comes for tea. When Daisy is going to come for tea, it is raining and Gatsby is quite nervous. Their meet beings a bit awkward, but soon they become quite comfortable with being around each other. When the rain stops, they are able to go to Gatsby’s house where they further have a good time together. So in the story, rain symbolizes certain feelings, and that time moves on, for the meeting with Daisy and Gatsby goes from awkward to relaxed.

Rain is important to the plot because this is Daisy and Gatsby's first meeting in 5 years. They were going to go out but the rain kept them inside and forced them into direct confrontation. This helped Gatsby and Daisy move along and reconnect with eachother.

Rain was extremely important because it locked Daisy and gatsby up inside and they were reunited. The rain keeps the plot moving through forcing confrontation between Daisy and Gatsby
