When at the Buchannan residence, we meet Tom and Daisy Buchannan. Nick used to go college with Tom. Tom, who we meet first in the novel, is described as a powerful and strong man. In college, he was known as a heroic figure, for he was a great football player in school. He came from a wealthy family and spends his money extravagantly. My first impression of him is that he is a somewhat arrogant person, and a bit overly aggressive. He seems like the type of person that would boast and brag quite often. Inside the home we meet Daisy, who is Nick’s cousin, Tom being her husband. Daisy is a pretty girl, but quite she seems to be self absorbed and conceded. Both Daisy and Tom seem like those wealthy people who think they are high and mighty and superior to everyone else.
Nick knows the Buchannans because Daisy is Nicks cousin once removed. Tom is a large muscular man who used to be a very good college defensive end. He is a very cocky person and always thinks that his answer is best. Daisy is very beautiful but seems to be very bored and uninterested in things.
Nick knows both Tom and Daisy from his past. Daisy is somewhat related to Nick. She is his second cousin once removed. Tom on the other hand is an old college friend of Nick. Tom was said to be a strong and built man who played football where he went to college. He was also described as a power man. I think that Tom is a cocky person because of the way he presents himself. He has plenty of money and strikes me as the type who would buy things on a whim. Daisy is said to be a very beautiful woman. She is Tom's wife as well as a relative of Nick's. She strikes me as an arrogant person because of the way she presents herself. She also seems kind too, but maybe that's because Nick is family. Nick seems to be a person who keeps to himself. He is not cocky or arrogant like the other two, but just goes with the flow.
Nick knows Daisy and Tom because Daisy is Nick's cousin. Nick visited their house and saw Tom was a very self absorbed man. Daisy seemed to be in her own little world not to worried or interested in her surroundings.
