Gatsby is mentioned in a conversation between Nick and Jordan at the Buchanon's house earlier in the novel. Nick later sees Gatsby in his yard in the middle of the night.

Gatsby is briefly brought up in conversation at the Buchanon's house. Gatsby's first appearance however is at the end of the chapter when Nick sees Gatsby outside looking up at the stars. Nick gazed at him as he awkwardly grabbed for the sea with what appeared. trembling hands. Nick was curious but after he looked for what Gatsby was staring at, he was missing.

Gatsby is only mentioned briefly in the first chapter. He is first seen towards the end of the chapter when Nick is in his yard in the middle of the night looking at the stars. It was only for a little frame of time that Nick looked upon Gatsby.

The narrator tells of how he believes Gatsby is living a lie and is not anything what he appears to be. Gatsby was first mentioned quickly by Miss Baker. When Nick goes to answer it he is cut off and later sees him standing at his house with his arms raised up over the ocean.

Gatsby is brought up in a conversation from Jordan to Nick. She asks him if he knew anyone in West Egg and he said he didn't, she brought up his neighbor gatsby. Nick then sees Gatsby one night when he looks towards his house he sees Gatsby standing on his deck looking out at the sea reaching for something which appeared to be across the bay.

The first time that Gatsby is mentioned is when Nick talks about the man's house. He tells us that Gatsby's house is large and magnificent, with many extremeties such as a pool. Nick also tries to bring up Gatsby at Tom's house, but is quickly ignored. At the end of the chapter is when Nick encounters Gatsby in person. Nick sees him in his own backyard staring at the stars. Shortly after noticing him though, he vanishes.

Gatsby is brought up briefly when Nick and Jordan are having a conversation at the Buchanon's house. Ironicly, later in the chapter, Nick actually spots Gatsby in his backyard gazing at the stars.

Gatsby is brought up for a short amount of time at the Buchanon's house, even thought he first appears at the end of the chapter. He then is seen in his yard by Nick.

At the Buchanon's Gatsby is mentioned in a conversation. That is where he is first talked about, but later in this chapter Nick spots Gatsby by the water reaching out aimlessly gazing at the stars.

Gatsby is first brought up in a conversation which was between Nick and Jordan. He is also brought up when the narrator was describing his house. But he is seen by Nick at the end of the chapter looking at the stars in his yard.
